Spring seems to be so much later, still not even any wild bluebells out yet. Maybe it's the lack of sunshine more than the temperature as such?

I suppose the cloud has kept overnight temps up but even then we are down close to zero in the coming days.

Well, Yateley is only some 40 miles from Chichester but here's a photo from Stoke Woods, about 5 miles NW of Chichester only a day later than the above. More photos to be posted in Signs of Spring in Science forum.

Apologies,  you are absolutely right - don't know how that slipped through the search. Possibly could end up with lowest max which is 18C right now and 2021 managed a 23.6C.

The complete lack of any proper early warmth is what has marked this April out from many previous similarly disappointing editions .
To get to the final week of April with no 20C anywhere and frankly not much above 15C is very disappointing these days and a rarity.
We have at least avoided much in the way of frost IMBY due to cloudier nights at least , in contrast to 2021 which was frostier than many winter months I've known.
