A rather dull, dreary and damp start to this morning here in Edinburgh with light to moderate rain.

However, last night wasn't as cold as the night before it. It was one of the few frost-free nights which we have had recently although the temperature at 8am GMT (08:00 UTC) this morning on Thursday 16 March 2023 was only around 4°C here in Edinburgh.

Here in Edinburgh, the earlier rain has cleared away for now, and it has brightened up slightly from the south although there is still a lot of cloud around and the wind has picked up a bit as well.

However, the temperature at 1pm GMT (13:00 UTC) this afternoon has now jumped up to a much more seasonal 13°C here in Edinburgh.

The hazy sunshine in fairy light winds is making for a fine springs day.

Same here. Today is turning out more brighter than I thought with the current 11.4 C & low 80% H feeling Spring-like in light S breeze. This morning did start off damp after 0.4 mm of light rain fell overnight but has dried up nicely now.

A very different day in the central Lakes today

After the last two days of snow above 100m we have just had 24 hours of constant rain with rapid snowmelt. Now we have flooding with some routes pretty tricky to get through. The River Brathay is in flood. Our max today is 10 C!

Dull and damp with occasional rain, but not too exceptional at 1.6 mm so far this morning and at least is fairly mild at 10.7 C with very little wind.

Easily the mildest day of the year so far. Generally a mixed cloud cover, with a 10-minute downpour earlier. It actually feels quite warm in the sunny spells, though. The high so far has been exactly 14.0°C.

15°C now but reached 16.0 earlier in incredibly light winds. Shower clouds building al around but thus far they've skirted us.
Feels wonderful outside.
