I made the mistake of checking before switching lights off - now I can 't sleep as I am intrigued by the rate of the snowfall - already have 1-2cms in space of 1hrs here in Okehampton. Probably be gone by time I wake up and need to drive to Exeter.

I wish this snow event happened during daytime or even better during winter or when I don't have to sleep - bit of a 12th December 2022 dejavu and 17th January 2023 dejavu although snow much heavier this time!

Turned back to rain at the same temperature at 0.8c this morning and snow melting! - Fun over! sad.

A surprising inch or so of snow on the south coast of South Wales this morning ... was expecting rain this close to the sea. Still snowing steadily.

Light to moderate wet snow has been falling for a few hours here. Only amounted to 2cm or so accumulation on favoured surfaces. Roads appear to be clear. Now 1C and snow fizzling out.

Just drove daughter to school in Paddock Wood as no buses. Roads are fine, bit slushy/slidey on some side roads but all good. At home light to moderate snow falling at 0.3c and 4-5cm (bit more on the car roof!), down at Paddock Wood 1-2cm and light rain. I think the height difference is about 150-170m so shows it's very marginal.

Nice little bonus snowfall though at the end of a surprisingly average winter temp wise that had already done better than recent years with the December snowfall.

We have a smattering here on surfaces this morning and it's a sleety mix falling from the skies right now.

At least it will be mild!

Seems to be a renewed push on the radar with heavier snow falling here in Spencers wood again

Couple of cm here. Very wet and slushy. Nowhere near as good as Dec but nice to see some more this 'winter' (not wishing to poke that particular hornets nest but March is spring for me). Dog absolutely loves it

Woke up to a reasonably impressive 5-6cm here in Crowthorne. Quite wet and slushy, though, already melting on the driveway, patio, roads and pavements. As I write the snow has just got going again but I'd be surprised if it adds any further depth.

Very wet and slushy here now. Also, there was noticeably less snow in the valley (see third picture) which goes to show how marginal conditions were.

Snowed a reasonable amount from 5.00am till 7.30 am but barely settled on already wet ground once frost had gone. So just a dusting of mushy stuff enought to record 50% cover at 9.00 am on the grass.

About a cm of snow fell, continuing to snow quite heavily now but all paths /roads are clear. Got to drive up to Loughborough in an hour or so, so will see what it is like as I head north and higher up in the Cotswolds.

Exactly the same here: we dropped down the hill and it’s a sleety mix with very little snow on the ground. Looking back up the hill you can see the difference. About 0.3c at home, around 1c down the bottom, around 100 metres lower.

Kudos to that model getting it right first!

We had about 2-3 cm of wet snow here in Cranleigh, Surrey in the latter part of the night. I imagine a lot more would have settled on the nearby Surrey Hills.

A brief early light slushy cover at Folkestone (35m) @6am, nothing at sea level.

1cm at Stanford near Hythe where I work (80m)  150m has 3cm. The tops (187m) around here have 4cm.

Not too bad to be honest and nice to see.

Altitude, as ever is King.
