Good to see a spell of great weather time for my week off work!
Same - not working until 18th
You're in luck there, bro.
28.9C the highest so far at St James's Park.Cordoba 40.8C.
Here Kew Gardens showing 29.1C at 17:00
St James’s Park maxed at 29.2. Not sure if Kew beat it as it’s not on the list of SYNOP stations.
Cordoba looks like the European champ today with 41.1C, a little below the GFS max forecast.
Matt Hugo on Twitter is really bullish about summer essentially being over after this upcoming heatwave is over.I've never seen him quite so confident but says signs are ominous for a poor late July and rest of summer.Surely we're not going to get another bad August?
Didn't he also say no heatwave a week or so ago? Sorry if I'm wrong but sure it was mentioned on here a week or so ago.
Looking a decent prolonged spell of weather coming up, especially the South...
Really do need some rain again soon though!
No meteorologist worth his/her salt would express such confidence about any scenario beyond a 2 week period. North Atlantic/European weather is notoriously hard to pin down.

not going by GFS looks to be firming up
Yes indeed. even the drizzle has stopped now!
Well he lives in Lancashire according to his bio so perceptions of summer up there can be very different from those in London or the SE. Looking at his tweets there also seems to be some AGW scepticism at play which may be colouring his opinion. I’ll say no more.
