21.8 in S-facing room here, 19.7 with heat trickling into N side of house. Still no heating on, but it can't last!

Heating on for 2 hours this morning, the first time I've indulged myself rather than visitors, after 16C first thing. Took the opportunity to go round, check the radiators and tweak the thermoregulator valves

Yesterday used 3m3 of gas which is the most of the season, combination of cold and to heating to indulge visitors, was something like £3.60. Today it is colder but probably will use about the same. Managed with just one blast this morning despite being 6c outside.

Also had a 5pm to 6pm window where we were paid not to use electricity last night, so participated in the experiment. Used 0.120KWH so just waiting to see what the saving was compared to normal. Prepared food early and only had a couple of lights on during that period.

Sounds a bit obsessive, but I just like measuring things, that is why I like the weather.

An hours indulgence here too this morning before we all left for work and school. That one hour of heating pushed the temperature from 15.8c to 17.0c.

The heating has been used for 10 hours this month.

Until this year we were the family that would have the thermostat firmly rooted to 21c all day, knocking it back to 19c at night. Utter wastefulness.

Around 30 hours' usage here this month, with the thermostat set to 16.5C when I'm here and 14C when I'm out.

It's presently 17.5, so the heating won't be on for a while.

(When my dad was still around, the themostat was set to 21 or 22. Maybe I'll feel the chill as well when I get to my mid-60s, assuuming I live that long!)

Westerly breeze making it feel cold. Do not know what I shall do when the easterlies start.

That will eat some of the funds away.

22.0c with the heating coming on now and then. My wife and I are both elderly but still need to watch where the money goes. Even with government funds.

Feeling cold and damp outside with a strong wind off the sea. Currently 16.6°C inside so no heating on.

I’ve definitely noticed the house cools a lot more on rainy and/or windy days, even if it’s relatively mild outside.
Whereas today has been much cooler, but sunny and calm so the house has stayed ok without the need for heating.

So I’m actually hoping for a cold but calm winter vs a wet and windy one.

I would settle for that too.

The cold wind today has definitely cooled the house down.

Cold winters day today , had the heating on twice so far, once this morning and once at lunchtime to get back up to 18c each time.
Cost £2.80 so far today.

That for Gas alone?  I put on twice yesterday and reached £2.75.  Today inside 16-17C as I did not put it on this morning but opened all the windows to get rid of humidity and mist on glass, all dry very quickly in few minutes.   Will put on at 5pm and no heating tomorrow as we going away to Kent for Bluewater shopping and stay over night in a hotel.

Yep including standing charge, but not really any hot water as nobody has been in the shower so far.

Down to 16c again now, so will need another blast and another £1.25 or so spent.

Used to be up to £2 per day on heating all day from 7am to 9pm last 2 years.  If was all day I am sure it will be well over £10 due to illegal big rises when really other countries get less and get more gas from Russia than here.
