https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/cet_mean_2021 . This is 0.09c higher than the final August figure.

So everyone ends too low for September, but with WI the closest - impressively, only 0.18c shy. Congrats, a big gain on the rest of the field!

In terms of September CET rankings where did this September come.

I'm assuming it's in the top 10 - indeed well in the top 10.

Topsy turvy year first April colder than March, now September warmer than August. Has that happened before?

Here are the charts for September.

Max CET is the 6th warmest on record and min CET is 4th warmest on record. Bear in mind the minimum and maximum CET data only goes back to 1878.

Annual CET competition - September update

No change at the top this month. As you were. Bolty is up three places to third.

I have reflected the penalties in the figures. Only those with an error of less than 11.5C are shown in the table. Gusty, Duncan McAlister and Grandad are all still in the competition but not shown as they have rather large errors which would distort the table.

Thanks Global for more excellent work. Quite tight still at the top. I'd say that anybody in the top 5 is still in with a shout of winning the competition this year.

Thank you GW!  I’m in my usual mediocre spot but I still enjoy the competition every month!
