Very chilly day in London today. Such a strange Spring when was the last time the warmest Spring day ended up being in March? Definitely a possibility now, must be a rare occurrence.
My latest CET estimate has the CET at 9.26C as of today.
The current estimated final CET for May is just 9.78C.
It will certainly be the coldest May since 1996 and the first time the CET in May has been below 10C since 1996.

Thanks Simon!
What an extraordinary month!

looks increasing likely the coolest April-May CET period for 80 years
Good gracious!
Agreed. That is an amazing stat considering we are bang in the middle of a global warming phase. Big question probably for another thread .....
Is this a big blip or the signs of a general pattern change that could be influential for years to come?
That is an extraordinary period of below average temperatures! A sub 10c May CET is really going to stand out when looking back through the CET series!

Rostherne's (near Manchester Airport) mean temperature since 2nd April from NOAA
That green line in the 2nd graph represents 3.0C below the average.
Hi Kev, do u know when the last Spring which had its warmest day in March? Has it ever happened before? Must be extremely rare if it has.
Nationally, it has never happened as far as I'm aware but for individual stations it has occurred on very rare occasions.
Thanks, we are very close to something unique then. Remarkable stuff.
Isn't this about the same as December 2015
