Think that's about it here managed to make some icy snowballs of the cars. I'm far more excited by it than my 7 and 4 year old son's. Lol.

Apparently the rain turned into as snow at 5 am and even settled here at Folkestone. I said "apparently" because I've slept solid all night and only just this minute woken up to rain. But am seeing videos of snow falling locally in early hours on Facebook.

I’m in Carlisle at the moment and amazingly there’s a dusting of snow on cars and grass at just 20 M ASL. A real surprise! Temp was 1C when I got in the car.

8cm level snow on my bikestore roof in south edinburgh - measured using a calibrated toy story ruler

Now drizzling

Weirdly, the thundersnap didn't wake me up - living on a busy road I'm used to noise, it was the complete silence around 3 that had me awake!

I've just had a call from the wife who's walking down to the town and she's all excited and saying "it's snowing, small flakes but it's snowing" Well from where she was calling from is about 600 yards away and I can definitely say it's not snowing here.

Snow has turned much wetter now and is melting on the road and pavement. Probably only 0.5cm/1cm at the peak, milder air likely moving in now.
