Not so much a moan but more of an observation really - just some very poor Met Office and BBC forecasts as well as models - not for the easterly but with regards to precipitation. The Met Office has a yellow weather warning of snow and ice until 11am tomorrow.
I accepted the channel low slipping into the Bay Of Biscay Tuesday - Fine but today it was due to cloud over with outbreaks of sleet and snow pushing in from the west later this afternoon - what we have are brighter spells and a really strong SE'ly wind. Furthermore, we should have had a 20% chance of snow at 1600 and 30% chance at 1800 in Exeter but this looks unlikely now.
It appears that every precipitation band that reaches the SW even Cornwall just fragments and evaporates which leads me on to another - This so called system' of sleet and snow on Saturday looks like it won't make it across and the Met office have replaced snow symbol and then sleet with cloudy skies and 30% chance of precipitation and +3c.
Not happy - grateful for the showers of snow this morning which left a dusting but still we could have done better - there are parts of Devon that never saw any snow and Dartmoor saw little - Some parts of Devon/Somerset/Dorset/South Hampshire/Wiltshire/Sussex have not even seen a flake yet. Wales has had hardly any snow too (if any) as far as I am aware...? Unless someone could tell me otherwise?
We all long to see a snowy breakdown so I do wonder if Saturday's snow which the BBC are currently forecasting is now at stake? Instead i feel we could get just spits of drizzle and sleet as the front fragments when it pushes eastwards. Or even worse more freezing rain.
Does anyone think the SW could still see snow tomorrow Sat?
