Earlier on yesterday evening, we had an official air frost at all three of my local stations but now just a few hours later, it's now chucking it down with rain yet again with the temperature also having jumped back up to above freezing.
I am in no way going to dispute the fact that we have done quite well during this month in particular as far as the number of air frosts is concerned.
However, it just seems that no matter how cold it actually gets here, we just CANNOT get it to be cold enough for any any precipitation to fall as snow here in the north of Edinburgh, whenever that precipitation arrives which makes me wonder wonder what on Earth it os going to take to actually get some snow in this part of the world.
That is particularly frustrating when I'm reading reports from even a number of southerners who are getting some snow in their neck of the woods.
Furthermore, the relatively high number of air frosts which we have getting during this month means that I should be able to wake up to more bright, cold and frosty mornings than has actually been the case and so, that continues to be something which doesn't happen all that often in this neck of the woods (I am aware that it has been a different story in those higher parts of the south of Edinburgh where lying snow has lasted for longer, but this is the north of Edinburgh which I am talking about here).
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
