That also shows the cloud arriving by 4pm, so goes against their earlier forecasts. I suspect it will max out somewhere around 36C today.

Midday temp here 29.3. Last Friday it was dead on 30C I think.

Heathrow 31.4C at noon, Northolt 30.6C.

Farnborough is surprisingly up there in contention at 30.8C too.

Big difference here still compared to last Friday.

Today 29.9C at 1200

Last Friday 32.8C

But the temperature peaked at 1:45 last week due to a change of air mass. We might squeeze out a couple of extra hours of heating today.

32.3 here in Ruislip/Northolt. Sky absolutely cloudless and totally still, so perhaps we will get 37+ if it stays like this.. I thought 36-37 would be max today

32C used to always feel like the ultimate max in most hot spells.

About to head into the 31s here. Light SE breeze as forecast. Humidity not too bad - 35%. Will inevitably be higher tonight though!

That area of cloud over the Channel is getting close. Looks like surface heating will be interrupted for a while. Hard to judge how long - an hour or so perhaps.

The cloud in the Channel has now reached Weymouth and is close to Swanage. Heading NNE. Hopefully it will stay away from the area around Heathrow until after temperatures peak.

My wife went to the coast at Christchurch with the kids  so is probably going to get rained on before long...

Hope you didn’t forecast a dry day, or it’s the doghouse for you! 😂
