Apologies everyone. My dad died suddenly yesterday morning so I have been offline.

I will post up the September thread shortly and clear my inbox.

After that I will be offline for at least a couple of weeks. Please bear with me. I will post up the August data and results as soon as I can.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that!  My sincere condolences to you and family.

Thank you for taking a moment to update us - remembering how I felt when my grandma died, I honestly don't know how you've managed it.

Would have put this with my CET estimate but I sent that just before I saw this update.

Sorry to hear that Simon - I lost my father a few years ago and my father in law earlier this year to Covid so know how you must feel. Best advice is to take time in returning to normal life.

So sorry to hear that and hope you're OK. Forget the comp, just look after yourself and your family.

Really sorry to hear this GW. Best wishes to you and your family at this time. Take a break from the competition if you need to, it's not  what's important right now.

Darren's back to topping the leaderboard, Gusty having made way en route to third position. Splinter's also benefited from this exchange.

Some big climbers this month, most notably Windy Willow ascending 7 places while Caz and Bolty scramble up by 6 after some very good predictions (well done for winning the Aug challenge, Caz!).

I hope Simon doesn't mind me standing in like this - I do so with all due respect.

Going to be interesting to see who's kept their cool for September, versus trying something more adventurous. Especially among those at the top end, for which going far from average is particularly bold.

Thank you SC!  I’m sure Simon won’t mind you stepping in under such sad and difficult circumstances!

Congrats to all for taking part.  It’s a complete fluke that I got August right but a nice one.

I've Pmd Simon (GW) to send my condolences and sympathies to him and his family. I like to think that all of us on this fourm care about each other and our welfare.

Many of us have been on here a good number of years and as far as I'm concerned this is the best weather forum on the Internet. Let's keep it that way.
