As of this morning before rain arrived,  I was on 19mm , been lots of little bits of rainfall this month so far to keep me on my toes.

I went back to a manual gauge a few weeks ago as I am sick of the electronic ones stopping working.

Too many southerly tracking low pressure systems are keeping this week drier here than what it was originally forecast to be, and the outlook for the UK is expected to drier as well, once we get to the weekend as high pressure builds up.

When you add all of that up, this is starting to look like a return to the drier than average conditions which we had during the spring which will happen later on down south, and which is already happening here.

It that is the case, this month is likely to drier than average overall in the end, in this part of the world.

Following on from when I thought we're still in June,  July continues in its dry mode in south Dorset.

Amazing the contrast in rainfall distribution.

Over half the monthly average already with 31.6mm so heading towards yet another wet July

June has been unprecedentedly dull since 2007 while July has been unprecedentedly wet. August the only vaguely normal month out of the three 'summer' months
