As at 8am this morning, total of 4.8 mm of rain has fallen since 9am yesterday morning along with just 2.2 mm at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
For Edinburgh Gogarbank, that brings the total for this month to 12.4 mm, the total for this spring to 12.4 mm and the total for this year to 268.4 mm as at 8am this morning.
For the botanic gardens in Edinburgh, that brings the total for this month to 7.0 mm, the total for this spring to 7.0 mm and the total for this year to 222.0 mm as at 8am this morning.
We are now almost a third of the way through the month, but those above totals for this month so far amount to much less than a quarter of the 1981-2010 March average at both those stations, so this is continuing to be rather a dry month here.
Furthermore, it could going by the latest model output, be that we are currently going through what is likely to be the most unsettled period of this month with the outlook looking drier, especially as we get to the second half of the month.
Because of that, this is continuing to look like being a very dry month here indeed in the end, as it stands just now (although having said that, it is raining here just now so all of that could easily change).
