For the fourth day in a row, we have a bright and sunny start to yet another day with a total of 1.6 hours of sunshine having been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 8am this morning.
Having said that though, a total of 0.2 mm of rain has been recorded for today so far at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh as at 8am this morning. However, that is probably just due to condensation and so far, Edinburgh Gogarbank has been completely dry until now.
Last night's overnight minimum temperature was 14.3ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 13ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 14.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
However, the temperature has shot up once again during this morning and even as early as 8am this morning, the temperature was already up at 20.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 20ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 19.5ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
This means that it is even hotter just now than what it was at the same time during yesterday. When we consider how hot it ended up getting yesterday, it surely has to be only a matter of time before a temperature of 30ºC or above is recorded at one of my three local stations. Sadly though, that temperature potential is not expected to be realised today, as the forecast for much later on isn't so good.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
