This evening has become increasingly cloudy and hazy over time and in the end, a total of 9.8 hours of sunshine was recorded for today at Edinburgh Gogarbank. Whilst that is quite a reasonable total overall, that is rather still disappointing when you consider how sunny it was for most of the day up until this evening.
From what I am seeing on the latest radar maps, the rain clouds are increasingly closing in on here, but they haven't reached us yet as I write. This means that it is still dry for now and the moment, we have just gone into another permacast hell with nothing really happening.
It's not quite as warm as it was at this time last night, but is still very close and muggy nevertheless. We desperately need something to clear this air but as we saw last night, just a single thunderstorm is not going to do that.
Meanwhile, the temperature at 10pm tonight was 19.4ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 19ºC at Edinburgh Airport and 18.8ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.
The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
