A nice sensible comfortable 22 C here at Folkestone. Burning hot in full sunshine while sat at the west facing front part of my house being sheltered from the nor'easter breeze.

Home location: Folkestone Harbour.

By happy coincidence I’m in the UK hotspot region today, sitting on Macclesfield station platform. Can’t remember feeling this hot this far North for years.

Another fine and sunny morning with temperatures already reaching 20 C with 73% H. Even though it is bone dry and I'm not experiencing the real heat of inland (tend to be cooler and fresher on the coast), the hideously swampy genitalia season is now well underway where I'm getting through talcum powder at an alarming rate.

Quite chilly out in the garden now @ 17 C in the north-east wind off the sea. Rather cloudy today but bright with sun visible. Would love to know what's causing this conveyor belt of thick high cloud over the last few days? Expecting haar again tonight

The Sun has been struggling at times to be seen through a layer of cloud and so, the rather disappointing total of just 3.4 hours of sunshine have been recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank as at 5pm this afternoon.

The wide variation in the temperatures between the various weather stations here in Edinburgh is also still very apparent just now and so, the temperature at 5pm this afternoon was 21.0ºC at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 17ºC at Edinburgh Airport and just 15.6ºC at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

The temperature at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh reached a maximum of 17.6ºC a few hours ago, and has been steadily dropping since around 2pm this afternoon. However, the temperature at the other two stations has still not yet peaked for today and is therefore, at its highest values for today so far at 5pm this afternoon at both of those stations.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Temp maxed at 29.5C, currently 27.9C.

We're still being affected by the smog from the moorland blazes. Was very unpleasant again earlier. A subtle shift in wind direction is taking the worst of it away from us for now.

I do hope your situation improves very soon.
