I'm pretty sure the user in question hasn't recorded more than 1cm since 2013, not 30 years.

I suspect when quite often the snow has managed to avoid this area once again when it is a little bit milder the rain will have no such issue.

Reading the posts in question :

He has recorded 1cm snow in this cold spell

He has been recording for 30 years (not sure why this is relevant)

Main point is parts of E Yorkshire seem to have done poorly this time. Many parts around there won't have had anything decent since 2013.

After fighting the radar to get something more than light echoes to reach our area.... a rash of rain showers had no issues spreading thru the area this morning... heavy at times too.

This spell has been almost insulting in its determination for us not to see proper snow.

Such a let down.

Theres got to be more to this than in the message. Its coastal based so wind/drifting  and or the salt/sand could really impede settling snow.

I suspect the Kent crew are feeling the same as me right now. When we had the cold in place how come we didn't get a big blob of ppn like we are currently managing now it's warmer, always the way.

Manchester is currently receiving a really heavy rain shower - it’s lasting for ages - there’s a line of heavy precipitation pushing northwards on the latest radar.

Don’t get me wrong - we got snow - but this is much much heavier than anything we had in the past week. A bit of a kick in the testicles.

For a city that’s so wet (from north, south, east and west) we shouldn’t really have to try so hard to get some decent snow! Where’s the sodding easterly rain shadow now?!?

Read what was actually said. The user claimed he hadn't seen more than 1cm snow in over 30 years observing.
