I see no reasons to be optimistic about this August so I am going for a cool 15c and very wet.

15.7 please GW. I fancy a cool start to the month will be turned around, so this guess might end up a little low. In summer, that's not a bad thing and I feel less annoyed being wrong in that direction!

Yes, what's going on at the MetO Art? It's as if the rigor is lacking. There seems to be an increase in the number of delays in publishing the data.

The first half of August is looking like a bit of a shocker. Current estimates have the CET below average every single day out to the 19th. CET struggling to stay above 15C by the middle of the month. Lets hope summer does return at some point.

Totally forgot about this, first time I have missed a month for a long time, I would have gone for 15.9C for the record, not that it matters.

I'm on holiday as well at the start of next month, so will probably miss that as well.

Interesting to see we have not broken a date record since 2005... we have really struggled for a hot August in recent times! We have had a few that were a bit warmer then average but nothing special....

If the GFS or ECM 00z comes off a sub 15C CET looks likely by the halfway point of this month?
