Certainly opens up England's group, assuming Suarez doesn't reach full fitness in time and Cavani continues to be off form.

Problem is, we could do with Suarez playing in the World Cup for the simple fact he could be the difference to take points off Italy and Costa Rica rather than worrying if he will play against England or Not.

I wouldnt be suprised if the Uraguay / England / Italy Games ended in draws.. leaving the Costa Rica game to see who can win by the biggest margin

I think the England V Italy game has boring 0-0 all over it. Opening group games tend to be tedious close encounters and England have never won many opening games at a world cup. Aslo the weather will be like the inside of a Swedish sauna set on max humidity.

It will probably be something like 5-4 now I have said that, but doubt it.

One of the few games at a good kick off time for me...8am on a Sunday morning so will fire the BBQ up and make a cooked breakfast and get the TV going on the verhanda and annoy some neighbours

So, a lot more attention on an England friendly this Friday.  I for one will be unusually tuning in to an england friendly game to see if Hodgson puts out his provisional starting XI (injuries permitting) or uses the game to filter out the players who will not be boarding the flight to Brazil.  Personally, I think he should already know who he is not taking, and instead use the game as a means to give Jagielka a full game, to help forge some understanding between Sturridge and Rooney, and to give the players who could make a case for the starting XI such as Lallana and Barkley a decent run out within a "first XI" instead of cameos when half of the team has been subbed.
