Season over. Time for a new one. We have a summer of transfer activity and hope and expectations to discuss.

For my part I have no idea how we will do next season. There are a few key things. We now have Steve Coppell at the helm. We have plenty of money and a man who knows how to spend it wisely. A lot will depend on if we manage to hold onto Nicky Maynard. He has come out and said he isn't going anywhere this summer, but talk is cheap as we all know. The club have stated there is no financial reason to sell him. They are trying to achieve promotion to the Prem in the next 2 seasons and we need to hold onto our best player, and Maynard is the best striker in the Championship. One thing is for certain, if he does go it wont be to another Championship side. Time will tell. It's going to be a long summer.

Problem is Matty what will Coppell do if the pressure mounts? he does have a habit of clearing off, though in the short term I think he will do well at your place.

I would be amazed if he went to Cardiff, why would he? They are along way from being a potent force in the Championship.

Appreciate that but at 31 he will feel he still has 2 or 3 years in the prem.

That the best you can come back with?

How about some substance to you and the rest of your Cardiff fans stories? No? A link to the £20m being made available? No? A link to Bellamy saying he wants to go to Cardiff? No? A link from the man with the real money. The one who has been conspicuous by his total abscence and silence since Cardiff's latest epic fail? No?

So that's a no then?

LMAOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Tricky, I expect your mates to be thick as the proverbial, but I didn't think you were stupid enough to swallow the crap they are feeding you. Must be the Merthyr air

Have to say I find the Bellamy story hard to take, cant see him wanting to play at Cardiff yet.

Then money going into the club................no idea

I've obviously bored Tricky to sleep over his laptop

Speaking of clubs in trouble, Palace are in it deep. Liquidated tomorrow?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/crystal_palace/8714650.stm

This story isn't wholly accurate. They had the chairman on 5Live earlier. There is no chance of that tomorrow. Basically, if there is no investment by the deadline he will start selling assets (players) there would then be sometime before they were forced shut. If they are afforded the same treatment as Cardiff they will be able to stretch this out for some time.

I wonder if any football league clubs will go completely bust in the next year? I think they might, and there could be plenty more following

Bellamy interview on 5 Live this morning. He categorically denied he was leaving Man City for Cardiff and was extremely annoyed at the suggestion 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

Just about keeping their heads above water at the moment. That's the facts as we now them, rather than speculation. I've no idea how they will progress. They may be fine if they get some money put into the club, or they may nosedive and lose their best players. One is already on his way out as I highlighted yesterday.

I see Beckford got his move to Everton. Seems to have been in the pipeline for ages now. I don't imagine Simon is overly worried or bothered. They'll need to replace him of course, but with the money they have made they will pick up a 15+ a season scorer at that level (lots at Championship level) without too much problem I would have thought

Yes Ledley has gone, Jones needs to keep the squad together. Will investors come forward in abundance???

As for Beckford he will find it tough in the Prem, is he good enough ? Not too sure it is a very big step up for him.

After Schmeichel...Paynter.

Not so sure about this one. 29 goals in League One is not to be sniffed at.

Time will tell.

Crap at Dull, good at Swinedon. A striker is only as good as the service afforded to him isn't he? Could be a cracking signing, could be a crappy signing. If he gets you 15 goals next season he'll be a fantastic signing

Aspirations for next season? Apart from meeting Lush Matt

Absolutely nothing in the overstuffed rumour fest that goes on on our forums at this time of the year in relation to Morrison. News Now has no links either.

It would be underwhelming if true.

In response to Matty's questions - the Championship is such a fickle league, as you know. The difference between fighting relegation and play off aspirations can be 15 points or so...nothing over 46 games.

We won't take it by storm, that's for sure.

You've snapped up free-scoring Billy Paynter from Swindon, Simon. Largely unproven in the Championship. I for one will be interested to see how he gets on with a new strike partner in the league above.

A good signing from your point of view?
