And this from zoom earth just now. I assume it's the smoke from the fires over France that extends into Biscay. Also, there's an area of haze/smoke over Northern Italy. The parched earth shows well too.

Charlwood already 29.7C. Just got back from a run and it's already very warm, 27.9C - should have gone earlier!

Edit - now officially 30.0C at Charlwood so that's 31 30C days. Just four more needed to break the record. It is also nailed on to be the 18th day over 32C, just one short of 1995.

Already 32c in Charlwood

Didn't Charlwood go crazy back in 2022, 37c by 11am I think.

28 here with an ENE'ly from the sea, but the mainland is chock-full of 33s, 34s and 35s on Wundermap. The wind will veer southerly later and that's when we'll get the full force of it here!

Costessey, Norwich, is 33.2 C now (12.18 hrs bst).

I feel E Anglia tends to be 'off the beaten track' when it comes to weather reporting.

It's turned into another of those 2020s exceptionally hot and breezy with low dewpoint days. It's 34C now with gusty southerlies.

Until 2022 I can't say I'd experienced anything like it in the UK...

I do wonder about the Charlwood figures as they seem quite out of whack with other local stations. It seems like the Met are fairly stringent though.

Shoreham airport reported a max of 28.0 on Sunday which seems to have been struck from the record.
