I was watering last night and noticed a hedgehog
at the watering hole finishing a drink. When these creatures are out
and about in daylight, it sometimes means not all is well as you probably know.
But it wasn't long to sunset and I guessed it was just thirsty and
hungry. I haven't seen one this year and gave up putting out fishing pellets
when I knew it was mice or rats polishing them off.
Anyway, I put a handful by the hedgehog 'house' where I guessed it had returned to
and went off to finish watering.
I soon heard shuffling and went and got the camera from the office.
They have an incredible sense of smell and this one was obviously very hungry.
From now on, it's back to routine pellet placement.
