30.4 Heathrow, they're a bit behind. Glad we made it, anyway!

Only 26.8C / 27C here today. It's unusual to see such a big difference with Heathrow.

Looks like Thorney Island and Teddington got over 30c as well.

Looking at Roost Weather I can see a 13 day run from the 16th to the 28th, but not 14 days.

Knew we’d turn you into a heat hound. Next thing is it’ll snow where you are on Xmas day and you’ll be absolutely apoplectic about it

Hopefully a late entry by a manual station later to up the total. We can’t beat the big boys by crawling along with 30Cs, we need some 34s and 35s.

It getting very boring with same suspect places getting those heat, how about Leeds, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford for a change?  I am sure those cities can reach 30C today if there was no clouds in the morning which take away the rising temps time.  Not sure why Oxford does not get high temps as they are very central place in the Uk away from the coasts.  

Extreme heat? How about the hottest day in May ever and the three hottest days ever in June. Consistency of heat? Already more 30C days than the whole of 1976 and only one max below 25C (and that was 24.9) since the 15th of June. Nationwide involvement? CET the highest since the 19th Century in June and an extraordinary first half of July nearly matching 1976. Also an almost complete absence of rain in the last month. Just needs some storms to make it complete

I agree with this. I know some people will say they don't like X, Y or Z, but it's important to remember that:

Looks like 30.4 was the highest in the end, at Heathrow, with Teddington on 30.3. The max here was recorded very late, at 6.33pm.

Tomorrow and Thursday also look like going to the wire, based on UKV output. What happened to all those 34s and 35s modelled for this week?

Bristol has been 30 and above or close to, every day for the last couple of weeks, and also in the previous two heatwaves 

The Met Office has downgraded Sunday's forecast to around 23°C but continues those temperatures into next Monday and Tuesday.

For me, that will be fine as I will traveling down to Hawick in the Scottish Borders on Monday to spend a couple of weeks with my family (my parents are both very elderly now, and need a bit of looking after). If we get some sunshine with that, that will then allow me to be able to spend some time in my Mum's garden when I get down there.

Here in Edinburgh though, the Sun always finds a way through that in the end under this type of weather pattern and as I write, it has already started to brighten up here.

When this will end this horrible cloudy mornings that I don't like, I am more morning sun person than late sunshine which is no use as it setting down.  Did not see the sunrise for a long time now and also why all the talk of high SST's that supposed to prevent clouds forming but it seem more like fake news and the sea temps still very cold or below average to me. The winds is very cold this morning so I have to close all the window which was ajar open since June shut fully to keep the house warm.
