Cool, the cape levels have been pushing tornado alley values.

Yes, there's a band of storms moving through the area, they'll probably be with you now! Plenty of thunder and lightning, and one of those cruel nights where it's too hot to sleep (so you eventually drop off hours later than normal), have a fitful sleep because it's still hot, then you get woken up by storms - in my case an hour before I'd normally get up, so it's not worth trying to sleep. One "zombie day" coming right up!

Only 2.2mm rain from the storms so far, despite the angry-looking radar.

The Met have watches out for heavy rain and thunderstorms for many Central areas for the next couple of days.🌩️☔

A real thudery feel and very humid.

Feels very sultry here in the SE.

The dewpoint's been hovering just above 19C for 7 hours here! The MetO raw has a thunderstorm here for 6AM tomorrow, but AROME, ICON etc are much less keen, only having light rain.

We don't see sunny then black clouds come with thunderstorm, hail and rain then sunny.  All we get now is dirty skies, bog standard rain stinky showers.  Last time i see real one back in 2014 in Chicago which sent the temps down to 19C from 32C in few minutes, very stormy and proper thundrstorms and move away timely manner, not being stuck leaving lot of dirty skies around like here today.  

I never understood the run off as any rain here it straight soak to the soil, never seen water running on top of dry soil, same in Cyprus first rains it soaked well.

You should experiment by trying to getting some water to soak into sun baked clay soil. Believe me, it takes a while....

Yes with a hose pipe or watering can they run off but rain never been unless we get American movie heavy rain that you see water running down the windows.  Often on the pots with soil the water stood up for a while then sink.

Interesting that both extant warnings mention 1-2cm hail. I'd assume 2cm would be big enough to break windows and dent cars?
