Mostly cloudy here, the odd break in the clouds has let the temp rise up to 24c. Assuming the sun does break through, as expected, then it will rocket up as usual.

Just been doing some bike maintenance in the front garden in full sun... as always these jobs take longer than you think and before I knew it I had been out there for two or three hours and realised just how hot I had got. It's freshened up slightly now but the local PWS peaked at 29.9C with a dewpoint of 16.9C.

Not sure if we will get an official 30C today, it seems slightly less hot than forecast.

Up to 27.7 now - as usual at this time of year, the max is usually somewhere between 4 and 6PM. Long days and everyone pretending it's an hour later than it really is means late maxima are common.

Just make sure if you're booking a hotel that it has aircon! All the major chains will have it, as it's essential if you want a good night's sleep.)

Talking of which, it's just over 30C in here, so time for the portable aircon to go on. 26.6 outside, the max looks like 27.8 - and sunny, of course.

As expected a seemingly effortless 29.3c today, even though the sun didn't really come out until nearly lunchtime. 27.3c currently.
