Just broken the all time Jersey record - 38c reached now.  Not sure how much more we can go as clouds are building.

I think the North Sea has spoilt our chance of our first heatwave since 2022

Coolish breeze from the NE keeping us at 22 C

It isn't, as it's not in the UK.

Meanwhile the MetO raw now has 38 here tomorrow... I don't think people locally to me realise just what's on the way, they seem very complacent! (It's 23.1 and breezy right now).

Looking at the satellite the clouds to your east don't look too threatening. And the big storm I mentioned this morning over Brittany seems to have pushed way off to the west, not threatening the heat in the SW this afternoon at the moment.

33.8C at Gogerddan which I think is a new June record for Wales.

Edit: yes, previous was 33.7C on 18 June 2000 at Machynlleth. Trevor Harley's site said 33.4C was a new record yesterday which was wrong.

Yeovilton seems to have got stuck at 1.30pm.

Keswick and Carlisle both currently up to 30c, which is impressive (got to be a new June record for each)

We’ve just hit 35c here. Hottest day so far

Very breezy now but doesn’t seem to be doing anything to negate the temperature

We seem to have peaked at 34.4C here, 2C lower than yesterday.

Jersey now 38.9C, so a full degree above their all-time max.

As a point of interest, one more tenth at Yeovilton, 36.5C, would equal the 10th hottest day ever in the UK (19 July 2006). 36.8C would be enough to take no 7 outright.

It's 31c here with clear blue skies and a nicely moderate, easterly breeze, which is helping it to feel a bit more comfortable, the DP is 18c.

34.2 at Cardiff Bute Park pushes the Welsh June record higher.

It's also the hottest day ever recorded in Guernsey - 35.0C so far, beating 34.3 set in 2003.

We have had a late burst in this area - just nudged over 35C.

And we can add Middle Wallop and Merryfield to the list of stations that have beaten June 1976. Both airfields though, so obviously invalid 🙂
