Whoever's written the MetO text forecasts this morning hasn't done a very good job! The one for the SE has a high of 36C tomorrow, for example, whereas the MetO raw shows 37C here. In the SW it's even worse, with the text forecast going for a max of 32C today, while the automated for Bristol, for example, is showing 38C.

I don't understand why they can't just run a query which says "Find the max temp for (day) in (region)" and use that as the value instead...

I think geography isn't the strong point of whoever writes the text forecasts.  I have found the temps don't align either too.

We'll see how the day plays out, but at the moment it feels pleasantly fresh here. I'm not sure we should be in the red warning zone TBH.

At the moment it is about 2C cooler than at the same time yesterday (23.3 vs 25.5). I was previously expecting today to be slightly warmer than yesterday but the models and auto output now suggest that won’t be the case. Further west might still manage to beat yesterday though, a lot depends on how quickly the cloud and muck comes over from France.

Jersey Met are going for 39c here, which would beat our all time record by over 1c.  Followed by thunderstorms later in the day.  Could be quite an interesting watch - I assume they are modelling the temp based on what they see in France and our direct continental feed from only 14 miles away.
