Proves Folkestone really does have its own microclimate.
Still 24 C here with a lot of cumulus congestus in the sky, fairly humid

26 C here in Edinburgh now. Hot for this city! More sunshine than earlier
Do you know what the June record is for Swanston as we must be very close to that there now?

Today hit 28.2 C at 15:19 and it's falling slightly now
It's interesting that two of those above quoted high temperatures (excluding today's values) have occurred in the 20s (by that, I mean this current decade which is the 2020s) but this is also very concerning as well because this is also clearly showing the extent to which ongoing climate change appears to be speeding up.
Back on topic though, the temperature appears to have now peaked here with a bit more in the way of cloud around (currently around 27°C here in Edinburgh and I'm absolutely sweltering in this little flat of mines here in NW Edinburgh).
Oh and it's mostly sunny.

I am pretty sure Aberdeen's June record has been broken. It's currently 29⁰C at the airport. It's a little cooler here at 27⁰C (after reaching 27.9 a short while ago).

Glad you're joining in the heatwave party Doc.

31C here now. I have a new solitary wasp nesting box by the garden thermometer as two individuals, different species, were investigating the holes! Possibly: Slender Wood Borer Wasp - Trypoxylon attenuatum and Ectemnius spp. "continuus" perhaps. The temperature seems to suit them!

Quite a shock how you suddenly reach 29 C! Gone are the big build ups!
Indeed! Warm uppers and a subtle change in the wind/air flow and up it goes (and down again for the next two or three days, but still pleasant).
I think my max today will be 28.30°C so not quite as high as the official Aberdeen (Dyce) blue but very warm, for here nonetheless.

As at 7:40pm BST (18:40 UTC), a total of 9.1 hours of sunshine was recorded for today so far at Edinburgh Gogarbank.
As I write, the temperature is still a very sultry 25°C here in Edinburgh.
Is that your own PWS Roger or a local official? I only ask as on Monday our high was much later than normally expected. On the day I thought it may be because the daytime FARS on my VP2 was still in sun after it would trigger the fan (due to the loss of most of a westerly positioned apple tree), but today we didn't have the same issue so not too sure.
