At the moment it's looking like a more central and west of London event in the early days with an Easterly breeze sparing me the worst. For example today is 5C down on yesterday at the same time and it was supposed to be hotter with a possible tropical night. In fact it dropped to 15.5C. Also it's only 23.9C here at the moment (11.50) compared to 28C at the same time yesterday which was when it peaked. I'm sure I will get 35C + at some point because I have always been in close proximity to most previous records but it does show, that like with snow, there can be local variations and the charts may not give the full picture.

With Yeovilton WS currently down,  the gap in coverage is ridiculous in Somerset area. It's the sweet spot today

31C here

Dp. 23C

There is however a breeze starting to develop but still should scrape at least a 32C before the day is out

At the end of this historic upcoming heatwave, there appears to be a growing trend of a reload and another possible heatwave, possibly similar or hotter, in the 10-16 day range.

Yes, its on the GFS predominantly at the moment, but you certainly can't rule it out. And into early to mid July, it could well become even more extreme.

The longer range AI models are also showing another significant heatwave coming down the tracks.

I am convinced we will see 41-42c at some point this summer, if not a tad higher.

I notice there is also a manual site at Westonzoyland in Somerset which could be very well placed for heat this week.

Jersey is also looking hot today - 32.6C at 1pm.
