(Hope nobody minds me creating this week's CC thread, I think it will be busy!)

My first warm summer day this year. I'm in Nottingham. Trouble is was cloudy and 23C! Maybe I'll experience a 25 C tomorrow before I head north to a cooler Scotland

Good Luck with the heat everyone....

I wish teleporters were a thing, I'd be up in Scotland in a flash! It's going to be an endurance test for those of us "down south" and I suspect even some of the heat fans will have had enough by the weekend.

Talking of the weekend, here on a Sunday morning it's a stuffy 17.8, dew 16.8, under clear skies. There's no wind, and the overnight low was just 17.7. Yesterday's high was 27.6.

19.6, dew 18.8, with the solstice sun beating down here. In theory it's going to top out in the mid 20s, but that assumes the sea breeze actually arrives! It's still dead calm out there.

Cloudy but in that lovely altocumulus sort of way. 12.6c currently with just enough of a breeze to keep the skin cooled. (would say about 3 knots at tops)

Much more pleasant outside today, though still humid - mostly sunny, a light breeze from the sea, 21.9 / dew 18.7. The high so far was 24.0 earlier this morning, before the breeze arrived.

Gone totally cloudy in Nottingham now. Lowest clouds from the east, medium from the south. It's still bright and 23 C

Hazy to cloudy here now and temps have dropped a little down to 26.7 from a high about a degree above that earlier.

Finally managed/decided I best swap out the temp/humidity sensor on my VP2 this morning and corrected all the erroneous records beaten in May when the humidity was sat at 100%. Apparent temp record is no longer 53c lol.

A much more pleasant day today, despite the warm start temperatures only peaked at 24.1 (which would be warm for July, TBF, but you have to take what you can). It's now 22.1, dew 19.1, with a misty haze over the farmland a mile or two away.

I'm not sure she realises just how hot it's going to get from Tuesday onwards... I hope it doesn't affect the 15-year-old wolves too badly.

I'm dreading Tuesday, which shows 36C on the MetO raw and 35C on the GFS. It'd be far too hot to walk my pup (16 months old now) and I suspect he'll be spending a good deal of time curled up on his cooling mat in the living room! I can almost hear my puppy trainer telling me to use lickimats, snuffle mats, short training sessions, "hunt the cheese" and other distractions. There's only so much of those you can do in a day though!

It's now 21.1 here and though it'll be a warm night there should be a breeze. One more pleasant day tomorrow - probably the last long dog walk for quite a while - then it's time to hunker down. At least I have that luxury of a near-normal day tomorrow, further west there's little relief until (perhaps) Saturday...
