At a time when everyone else on here appears to getting some decent rainfall totals without any issues, it seems that we are just never going to see any decent amounts of rain recorded here regardless of what our weather is actually like. At times, this has led to me to almost feeling like banging my head against a brick wall with that one because if that is how it is always going to be, actually recording and reporting this data is just going to be a complete waste of time in my books and I am now getting to the end of my tether with that one.😡️

48mm here Jim. Just shows what difference a few miles makes when the rain heads in from the West. 

One thing I'm noticing here in Edinburgh is that the rain isn't filtering through the Forth-Clyde Valley towards here as it would typically do under a westerly regime and today is yet another example of that with today's showers adding only a further 1.0 mm onto the totals which I reported above for Edinburgh Gogarbank.

You don't have to go all that much further west though to find where the rainfall totals are much higher but the vast majority of that rain has been fizzling out by the time that it gets here, therefore keeping it a lot drier here.

If anything, the general trend according to the latest model output is for it to become more widely drier across the UK, so I fear that this is going to be yet another exceptionally dry month here.
