Despite what looked like quite a decent torrential downpour yesterday evening, this month's rainfall total at Edinburgh Gogarbank is still only 11.8 mm with just 1.6 mm being recorded there for yesterday. This means that even though we are now almost a third of the way through this month (it is important to bear in mind as well that this month only has 30 days in it), Edinburgh Gogarbank has still only had 17.2% of its 1991-2020 June average rainfall.

At a time when everyone else on here appears to getting some decent rainfall totals without any issues, it seems that we are just never going to see any decent amounts of rain recorded here regardless of what our weather is actually like. At times, this has led to me to almost feeling like banging my head against a brick wall with that one because if that is how it is always going to be, actually recording and reporting this data is just going to be a complete waste of time in my books and I am now getting to the end of my tether with that one.😡️

47.8mm here, so it's a wetter than average summer month. Not bad considering we're just over a third of the way through the month! Based on recent performance, though, that could be it for a while...

You don't have to go all that much further west though to find where the rainfall totals are much higher but the vast majority of that rain has been fizzling out by the time that it gets here, therefore keeping it a lot drier here.

If anything, the general trend according to the latest model output is for it to become more widely drier across the UK, so I fear that this is going to be yet another exceptionally dry month here.
