used. SoAhhhh, ok.

I had it my mind it was more sophisticated than that, 😂, - the average of 24 hourly readings from all the automatic locations in the CET region. But if it is just a high/low average, no wonder all my values have been pschit!!

I demand a recount 😡🌡️

Everyone's estimated above the 1991-2020 average (14.7°C) which is indeed very interesting considering the increasingly cool picture being painted by the short-term forecast modelling at the end of May.

I wonder how many have drawn that from longer-range forecast model signals as opposed to climate trends or gut feeling?

I have a sense of déjà vu with the same warm-cool-warm(er) signal that was present in May, and emerging signs that the last part could in fact be notably hot.

I will admit I am somewhat stunned to be bottom of the pile with what would still be a respectably warm June at 15.3c.

Definitely people are "playing on tilt" after what happened in May.

But with it not being especially cool now and a warm up starting at the weekend, who knows they may be proved right

I estimate that the CET before the forecast warm-to-maybe-hot spell comes into play will still be above 14 (c. 14.2?)

That's a third of the way through the month, the start of the month. That's not bad. Junes like 1989 and 1995 were worse and last year- the 5th hottest June on record- wasn't much different.

For it to only go up for the following week leaves just late June which is so much less likely to have cold nights. It would take a last third disaster to ruin my 16+ thoughts. It would also take a special (currently out of reliable timeframe) last third to get my 16.8!

Signals are wobbling but can you not feel the HP push starting to come into play?

In fact, I've just checked the Hadley data and the Mean CET last year to 11th was under 13.7°C.

Who would have thought that 2 heatwaves (both short) could be responsible for lifting this to 17- and the 5th warmest June in the record?
