It's looking like a remarkable spell on the way, GFS has continued to move towards UKV/MetO and now has several days of 27 here, the Saturday rain which it's been consistently showing has been downgraded and, I suspect, the MetO forecast of full sunshine will be the one that "wins".
I'm still very puzzled as to why the models are showing such heat here considering the onshore breeze that's forecast to pick up over the weekend, the MetO for example having 31C with 17mph easterlies (from a sea which is still only 13C).
The only other thing worth commenting on is just how unremarkable people seem to find such heat these days. We will perhaps see a couple of date records fall, an exceptional spell (just 12C above average here!), yet people seem to just take it for granted.
