A 0/10 for me. Winter? What winter.

(There wasn't even a frost after the 11th January, absolutely abysmal.)

0/0, which is generous. Miserable, grey, constantly wet winter (yet without any major rain events) with hardly any frosts or anything at all. Always chilly, yet never proper cold. Just awful.

I’m not baiting you either, and I’m sure you know that. You’re one of the very, very few posters that I respect for your even-handed publicity of severe heat and humidity in summer, despite your dislike

Neither feeling excessively mild nor particularly cold. A few frosts at the start of the year but generally very wet.

For me, the key now is to get through the Spring without any damaging frosts.

4/10 Frost

0/10 Snow

10/10 Rain Not that I wanted this much but it does flush out the aquifers, perhaps of some toxic substances?

2/10 (2 points for the fact xmas was relatively calm followed by a week of seasonal temperatures and patchy lying snow)

The worst since that 18month monsoon that started August 2023 and ended with the obscenely wet winter of 2024/2025.

As a dog owner, utterly awful for walking resulting in fewer walks away from his/our favoured spots.

As a gardener, dreadful for my hobby and for some species that dislike being totally flooded. As posters like NMA can attest, we're in a peculiar position whereby we need drought tolerant species for 26 weeks and pseudo aquatic species for the other 26 weeks (Spoiler - these don't really exist)

As a keen DIY'er i've been unable to complete my deck project which got rained off in November and remained flooded throughout.

As a weather enthusiast i've been frustrated with the physical weather, and the promising charts, in perpetuity.

As an amateur astronomer i've not had any realistic opportunities to get my telescope out.

As a parent of two toddlers its been awful being unable to utilise our outdoor space effectively. They say there is no bad weather, only bad clothing, but i think this only really applies to those who are capable of walking and dressing themselves.

As a construction industry professional output has been effected to a degree, which is frustrating.

Genuinely a sh*te winter on all levels.

One of the worst since 2023/2024;MRazzell;1685334

Given what follows the above, I'm surprised you gave it as much as 2/10.

I've already expressed my opinion, that for the south coast winter didn't happen, so 0/10 for West Sussex.

Friday morning might see a rare PM flow and wintry showers from the West, something we haven't really seen this winter.  Nothing too exciting but potentially some wet snow on higher ground.

East Anglia has been moved from drought to normal status yesterday, the last area to be clear of drought, after exceptional winter rain.

It never ceases to amaze me how we manage air frosts so easily in the spring, even as the nights become shorter than the days, but struggle to get them in late autumn and winter, which such long hours of darkness.
