If this winter finishes above the CET*, surely it is going to rank as one of the biggest âdisastersâ of all time? Given the early disruption to the vortex, the background signals and the continental cold block that built, I wonder whether anyone (not data driven) will ever forecast a cold winter in the UK again. All eyes on February!
*I know it has been a different story in parts (only parts) of the north, with heavy snow being recorded.
