Looking at Weatherobs the temeprature is still well below zero across a swathe of England where the fog is lingering (including here). Still -2.7C at 10am at Wisley for instance.

Frost, fog, earth frozen hard as iron and very cold out there today. Managed to catch a few breaks in the cloud and fog on the north downs near Dorking earlier and it was stunning!

Near Leatherhead 100masl (currently living in China since September 2019)

Loving the weather whatever it brings, snow, rain, wind, sun, heat, all great!

Fog finally lifted and we made it above freezing around 12pm, currently 1.1c.

Yes ironically even right by the coast it’s only 1 C ….when the cold weather takes hold at the weekend it will actually be warmer at ground level , if not in the atmosphere.

Lovely cold and sunny today and was frosty this morning around -3C to -4C did not put the sensor out yet but the old one in my storage room was -1C and 0C in the conservatory to 20C today so perfect round up figure for the last day of the year. What i notice this morning was more bright twilight 1 hour before sunrise, superb orange alike at horizon to sharp blue skies above. Normaly stay dark until past 7.30am or 8 if overcast.

Here in Edinburgh, more of a breeze has picked up with more in the way of cloud around although there is still some clear sky around as well.

With that, the temperature here in Edinburgh is now up to around 6°C which isn't even the least bit cold any more.😡

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

It's difficult to imagine fog not that far away in the southeast when in Chichester it's been brilliantly clear, max 4C, and hoar frost in shaded areas all day.

A really mellow day here - the coldest of the winter so far, with a max of 4.3 and with just very light winds from the west to NW during the day. I walked up the nearby hill this morning (don't laugh, people who live in properly hilly areas!) and the view of Bay View, where I live, was superb - just the right combination of a low sun (this was at 10:30), some mist and clouds.

(Not pictured: a giant puppy just out of shot at the bottom right!)
