Early morning showers have started to move away with more in the way of sunshine now coming through. Current temperature is 6.2c overnight low was 1.6c before the cloud rolled in.

Still sitting at 1.5/2.0 C at cragganmore , just occasional light snow showers going through,just a dusting so far, ironically it’s warmer today than it has been for the last 5 days, average temp over last 5 days -2.5C , it only went above freezing as the “cold air” arrived 😁

Happy New Year to everyone here on TWO, and to everyone who is reading this.

There's a lot of cloud around, but a lot of bright and sunny intervals as well.

Last night was milder than the previous night with a return to our more typical frost-free horror show without even as much as a ground frost even though the minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 2.3°C.

There is a cold wind, but it's not actually all that cold with a current temperature of around 5°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Hazy sun glinted weakly through high cloud for most of today, but at least winds are light so didn't feel that cold when walking to visit mum in nursing home. 5.4 C & mid-80% H in gentle NW breeze. 

There was a frost last night with a low of -1.1 C at 1.45 am.

Currently living at roughly 65m asl North of Cowbridge in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Here in Edinburgh, the skies are now much clearer and with that, we now have our first official air frost of the year at all three of my local stations as the temperature has dropped to around -1°C here in Edinburgh although it's still not as cold as it was a couple of nights ago.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.

Here in Edinburgh, the skies are still clear but the temperatures have been refusing to drop any further than they were earlier on due to there being too much wind around and so, the temperatures as I write are still hovering around or even slightly above freezing.😡

Overcast here with rain approaching on the radar - looks like the front has extended further east after all. The temperature's helpfully rising steadily too, so not much excitement to look forward to here. 2.8, dew 0.5, the overnight low being 2.1 an hour ago.

Temperature down to 1c and DP 0.2c

The snow is starting to settle on the roofs and cars. Even though the radar shows rain it has been all snow for the last half hour.

Always a good feeling having the first snow of winter.

A few spits and spots of rain here, and looking at the traffic cameras the heavy stuff near Reading is also rain. 

EDIT: The rain has turned to snow at Reading. Wish it'd turn to snow here! 😁

Left the uk cold weather behind and now in Hong Kong, fresh weather here, currently 15c, low humidity and wall to wall sunshine.

Wouldn’t be surprised if my parents get some snow over the next few days, on the north downs.

Near Leatherhead 100masl (currently living in China since September 2019)

Loving the weather whatever it brings, snow, rain, wind, sun, heat, all great!

So after standing out in the back garden wearing a dark coat and using an LED lantern, I can confirm there wasn't any sleet in that rain - just cold, cold rain. Pah!

Of course the temperature's fallen away nicely now that the rain's stopped. It's now 2.5, dew 0.2.

EDIT: So, as usual, it's off to the traffic cameras to spot some snow. Anyone fancy driving in lane 4 on the M25 between 9 and 10?

I haven’t had a proper look outside just yet but it’s very white. 

Currently there is still a gusty wind and quite frequent moderate to heavy snow showers at exactly 0.0°Cj.

Beautifully sunny day here 3.2c and a gentle breeze, so nice that there's family's on the green, today, playing another round of football, this lunchtime. It's been a common theme this Christmas holiday and lovely to witness.

Topped out at 2.4c today, currently 1.7c with DP of -3.8c. The DP went negative as the temp was climbing slowly this morning, heralding the arrival of the more unmodified artic air following the passing of the little feature. 

My back garden doesn't get much sun on the ground at this time of year so this morning's covering is essentially intact, which should help with temps dropping overnight. I've recorded my coldest night of the year in January for the past 2 years, wouldn't surprise me if this year makes it 3.
