The latest rainfall data for Edinburgh Gogarbank is as follows:
Data For Recent Days
24 hour total up to 9 am GMT (09:00 UTC) yesterday morning: 2.2 mm
Total since 9 am GMT (09:00 UTC) yesterday morning: 9.2 mm (as at 7:40 am GMT (07:40 UTC) this morning on Wednesday 19 November 2025)
Monthly Data
Total for this month so far: 100.8 mm (136.9% of 1991-2020 November average)
Number of rain days during this month: 13 (101.1% of 1991-2020 November average)
Number of dry days during this month: 5
This is only the first month since May 2024 in which more than 100 mm of rain has been recorded here and we're still not all that much more than halfway through the month.
In addition to that, more official rain days have now been recorded during this month than the 1991-2020 November average and so regardless of what happens during the rest of this month, this month will now go down as being wetter than average in terms of the number of rain days.
Seasonal Data
Total for this autumn so far: 200.6 mm (94.9% of 1991-2020 autumn average)
Number of rain days during this autumn: 37 (101.6% of 1991-2020 autumn average)
Number of dry days during this autumn: 34
This means that only at least another 11.0 mm of rain now needs to fall between now and the end of this month in order for this autumn to go down as being wetter than average in terms of the actual rainfall amounts so despite this month being this autumn's only wetter than average month, this autumn is now starting to look as though it might well end up being wetter than average after all as the immediate outlook is still fairly unsettled.
In addition that that, more official rain days have now been recorded during this autumn than the 1991-2020 autumn average and so regardless of what happens during the rest of this autumn, this autumn will now go down as being wetter than average in terms of the number of rain days.
Annual Data
Total for this year so far: 562.4 mm (71.7% of 1991-2020 annual average)
Number of rain days during this year: 101 (73.5% of 1991-2020 annual average)
Number of dry days during this year: 173
The overall deficit for this year is so large that even with the recent wet weather, that remains unlikely to come even close to being fully made up in the end as there is only one more month of this year after this month. However, we have gone quite a long way just within this month towards making up some of that deficit at least.
