The latest rainfall data for Edinburgh Gogarbank is as follows:
Data For Recent Days
24 hour total up to 9 am GMT (09:00 UTC) this morning: 1.2 mm
Monthly Data
Final Total for November 2025: 134.0 mm (181.9% of 1991-2020 November average)
Number of rain days during November 2025: 20 (155.5% of 1991-2020 November average)
Number of dry days during November 2025: 9
A thoroughly wet month overall which finally brought a long run of drier than average months to an end that had stretched all the way back to last year.
Seasonal Data
Final Total for the autumn of 2025: 233.8 mm (110.6% of 1991-2020 autumn average)
Number of rain days during the autumn of 2025: 44 (120.9% of 1991-2020 autumn average)
Number of dry days during the autumn of 2025: 38
Overall, the autumn was wetter than average in the end but this was mainly due to an exceptionally wet month in November which was enough to heavily skew the data for the entire autumn. In actual fact, November was the autumn's only wetter than average month with the other autumn months both being drier than average.
Annual Data
Total for this year so far: 595.6 mm (75.9% of 1991-2020 annual average)
Number of rain days during this year: 108 (78.6% of 1991-2020 annual average)
Number of dry days during this year: 178
Despite the wet autumn, this year still looks on course to be drier than average overall due to the deficit becoming so large even going in November, and the fact that there is only this month still to go as far as this year is concerned. This means that even if we had another exceptionally wet month in December, that still wouldn't come even close to making up the overall deficit for the entire year.
