Although 6C outside last night, insulation and thermal capacity of the house meant that temps didn't drop below 20C in the living room - and I wouldn't turn on the heating until it was below 18C anyway. Currently 14.9C outside, 21.5C inside and solar panel on the roof providing hot water at 47.6C

Heating has been on a few mornings  in the last week.  Temperatures were below 17c in the house a couple of mornings. Not surprising as there was a ground frost yesterday, so I would have thought people around here that haven't had the heating on is basing it on principle of it being September rather than comfort.

Put mine on just over a week ago. Then when things warmed up for a few days put it off. Then put it back on yesterday. We had a ground frost last night. Had it    to put it on  this morning,  then put it off when I went out . Will definitely be going back on when I go in a bit later. 🙂🙂🙂

Still no need yet as yesterday was 28.5 living room and 35.3 conservatory so never went below 20 yet in the mornings.

Down here in sunny South Wales it'll be a while yet before the heating comes on (usually late October), it's one of the perks of living in the bottom half of the UK and in a coastal location.

Hanging on - just. Never like turning it on before October.

Gotta get the logs ordered. Wood burner is soooo much cheaper to run than a modern gas boiler these days.

19.8C this morning in the living room, 26.5C mid-afternoon, and solar hot water at 54.5C. With weather like this, who needs heating?

I wish I had something to turn on! Last weekend, I had a “recommended gas boiler chap” come to service my boiler. I’ve got separate CH and hot water boilers, which work independently of each other or at least they used to. He managed to mess up both.

£500 later, I had someone else (the person I should have called in the first place, but completely forgot about) come to sort out the hot water, so at least we don’t have to drive to David Lloyd just to have a shower.

Cutting a long and sad story short, hopefully he’ll start installing a new system later this week. The old system’s motherboard has died, so £4.8k later  plus the £500 service  I’ll have a new and functioning system.

I did get 18 years out of the previous boiler, which was installed by the person I bought the house from, so it certainly had a good run for the money.

We’re spoiled Eastern Europeans in this house and definitely don’t like the situation, but let’s just say we were moaning a bit less today. Lucky, I guess.

Wondered why house was cold, realised heating not working, boiler fault, BG came out and fixed, but it didn't come on this morning as to mild in the house (90's house but we have super insulated it and also use Conservatory for passive heating during the day).

Ours is set at 18.5 C for the winter and has come on at 06:30 on a few mornings so far in Oct when it's dropped below. Mostly it's stayed off so far in this mild weather

Had to give in and click the heating on this morning but only because the boiler was being serviced, so the engineer had to check all radiators were heating up properly. Thermostat was then turned back down to 15c so it can stay off for a while longer. I have become used to the house being cooler in recent winters whilst working from home and trying to minimise the gas bill. My rule is, if it clicks on at 15 then it's cold enough for it to be turned up to keep the heating on. Fortunately my wife isn't a chilly female and my adult daughters can sit with fleeces etc on (and could always move out if they really don't like it!)

We did have the log burner on Sat night as it makes for a cosy atmosphere when it's wet and windy outside. It does get rather warm downstairs but I also now quite like the old fashioned way of then retiring to a cooler bedroom

No heating yet, we've had a few fires in the woodburner but not since the weekend.

Even with an Australian wife who starts to defrost at 30c, the house is warm enough at around 19c with a blanket or jumper and I'm still in a t-shirt after my flu shot earlier today.

No conservatory, we just have decent Origin alu windows and doors throughout the house.

No heating yet and will not turn out after today failed sunny day which now inside 18-19C, suppposed to be low 20's if was sunny and high 20's in the conservatory.  Once this HP move out it will get warmer again inside as sun come out easier in between fronts like we had in September.

I'm out for today, but I suspect that with no sunshine to warm the house and a brisk cool NW-ly, I shall weaken and give the C/H its first outing this evening.  Currently 17.6C in the living room, cooler on the N side of the house.

... following on ... in fact with outside temps down to 4,7 overnight and 15.7 in the house this morning, the C/H is currently having it's first trial run for an hour or so. I'll turn it iff as it looks like being a sunny day to warm the house through.
