Certainly!
Living in a thatched house (new build 1998), it is notable how cool the house was last summer. Downstairs at least. There is more sun getting through the downstairs south-facing windows from this time of year to March, which makes a difference in solar gain even at midwinter when it's sunny. The thatch is a good insulator for all weathers, though as DEW has said it's expensive to rethatch. I had the ridge redone this summer, which means I'll get another ten years before the big thatch, which will be done with reed. I can't, of course, have solar panels on the roof, which would help with hot water and so on. Swings and roundabouts. That said, when it comes to renewing solar panels in what is it? twenty years, that's going to be an expense of note for those who have them.
The big change for me was getting an electric blanket for the bed and another to put over when sitting on the sofa. That saves heating with radiators and is cosy. The office at the bottom of the garden has a small oil radiator which warms the space. Nothing worse than typing or whatever with cold hands.
