After a mostly sunny start to today, it has clouded over with a few showers around but these aren't even registering at any of the nearby major Met Office stations, which means that the the struggle to get any meaningful rainfall totals here goes on as does the increasingly worse water scarcity situation as a result.
After rising to around 14°C an hour or so ago though, the temperature here in Edinburgh has now dropped back to a rather chilly 12°C which means that it's just about time to get the wooly jumpers back on now!!
EDIT:
It's now raining once again as I write but although it's coming down fairly heavy when it comes down, this is once again yet another shower which is passing over too quickly for any meaningful rainfall totals to be recorded from that, and we need to be seeing a lot more than it is we are to even see any improvements in the ongoing water scarcity situation, let alone ease that altogether. As I write, just over 15 mm of rain has been recorded at Edinburgh Gogarbank. We are now almost halfway through the month and there has only been a total of 4.2 mm of rain at Edinburgh Gogarbank in the last week.
