Muggy and damp in the far west.. we have missed the heaviest bursts of rain so far. It does look like the leading edge of this front is turning increasingly thundery as it moves into Dorset. Moderate SSE wind. 16.4c

Last night's overnight minimum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was a very muggy 15.9°C as the temperatures for most of the night just refused to drop.😡

Today has then started off  on a breezy note with a lot of cloud around, but with occasional bright/sunny spells as well.

Currently already around 17°C here in Edinburgh though with the Met Office forecasting a maximum of around 22°C for here today which would make today even warmer than yesterday in the end.

19.3C. Cloudy with what shows on the radar as an intense area of heavy rain a few minutes from me. Looks thundery but no sounds or light as I type. More or less calm too.

Rain just starting. According to the lightning detectors I should be seeing then hearing something anytime now.

Clear and bright here, 18°C with a forecast that looks promising for watching the lunar eclipse this evening. 😀

Not a lot fell from that batch. The radar was/is apocalyptic. Was it high level rain again? Looks dark to the west again. Another bite of the storm cherry?

Interesting altocumulus here and looked stormy for a bit with half-crown sized spots of rain on the pavement (50p-sized for the young generation as we don't have a 12.5p coin these days). Now back to sunshine and mostly high cloud.

Some cloud but mostly sunny and bright, strong breeze, 25c in the back garden but the breeze is keeping it cooler, feeling. Not at all unpleasant.

Despite the unusual (in terms of what this year has been like) lack of sunshine today, the temperature here in Edinburgh has still risen to a very muggy 22°C although light rain has now started to set in here.

24 °C here now and almost muggy. It has turned a bit grey now, after a rather nice clear/sunny day with interesting high cloud. Quite windy.

I'm hoping cloud will clear a bit for this evenings lunar eclipse...

Thunder and lightning at around 10 a.m. this morning with one moderate shower . The amount of Thundery  activity was not really forecast correctly and the meto warning was issued after it had all started . Not sure why it caught them out as it was a very thundery looking sunrise.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 22.5°C which makes today our warmest day of this autumn so far, but that comes with a total of just 0.3 hours of sunshine and as a result of there being so much cloud around, we weren't able to see this evening's moonrise which also meant that we weren't able to see any of the latter stages of tonight's lunar eclipse from here.😡

There was a little bit of rain earlier, but very little of that was actually measurable as today's weather front seemed to more or less completely disintegrate just as it was about to reach here.

As I write, it's still fairly warm but the temperature here in Edinburgh is currently around 14°C which means that tonight is already a bit cooler than last night.

13.2C, lots of clear blue sky, some cumulus at a distance over the Channel.

A nice clear sky last night so I saw the end of the eclipse, but I'd have needed to go out and find  vantage point to see totality - too many high roofs looking east from my house.

Calm, clear, crisp! It's the first time in 3 months that temperatures have fallen into single figures. 9.3, dew 8.2, the overnight low also being 9.3.

Yesterday's high was 23.0.

Minimum of 1.9C in my garden and 0.3C at the Aboyne WMO site and 0.1C at Aviemore, so not quite an "official" air frost last night, although quite a few of the rural Highland PWS stations were below zero.
