Here in Hawick, earlier rain has cleared to leave us with a mostly cloudy afternoon with only the odd occasional sunny intervals.

Currently around 17°C which isn’t even the least bit warm for this time of the year any more.

A good deal of sunshine here today, with a bit more cloud this afternoon. An occasional breeze from the NW made the 24C max feel a bit more pleasant than it otherwise would, and the slightly lower dewpoint helps too.

It's currently 23.2, dew 13.7. Last night's low was 14.5, so today's only been a degree above average.

A mix of sun and cloud most of the day, although when the sun came out for a while the temps shot up quickly, the max was 26.4c from a low of 11c.

Currently 23.5c with a nice breeze from the SW, partly cloudy

I'm now back in Edinburgh after my fortnight's holiday in the Scottish Borders.

Before I left Hawick, it was cloudy with some sunshine at times and it has pretty much remained that way right throughout my journey home.

Here in Edinburgh though, the cloud has broken up over the course of this evening to leave us with a bright and sunny end to the day.

Today's maximum temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank was 19.6°C, but with only a total of 4.3 hours of sunshine.

This leaves us needing a total of at least 22.9 hours of sunshine between now and the end of this month in order for this month to go down as being sunnier than average but as there are only three days left of this month, that is an average of at least 7.63 hours of sunshine per day. So far this month and despite the lack of any completely sunless days this month, we are only averaging 4.93 hours of sunshine per day so with the outlook not looking particularly sunny over the next few days according to the last model output, it is now looking as though our run of sunnier than average months which started back in February is now about to come to an end.

Currently around 15°C here in Edinburgh

16.1C. Cloudy and calm. The forecast implies rain will fall today IMBY.  The synoptic chart shows a low with 'various' fronts sic passing over. The radar indeed shows light precipitation. But again, on the ground it remains dry.

Rain has started here but very light so far. A larger patch of rain is approaching so we should see some in the next 30 mins.

20.9C, and calm so comfortable enough. No rain from this low pressure system but it looks like showery stuff to the north in the Bath area.

You can feel the sun's warmth through the cloud in the brighter parts.

We avoided the rain completely and it's a bright and warm day. Mostly thin cloud with a few sunny spells. It's reached 21 C here so I'm happy with that!

We never got a heatwave in Edinburgh this year, they are very rare and time's slipping by now 🤔
