Another cold and bright start to the day, but there's a change compared to the past few days - a "mackerel sky". The old country saying was "Mackerel sky, not 24 hours dry"... we'll see. GFS has some rain setting in around this time tomorrow, MetO just has heavy cloud with a 30% chance of rain. Either way, it's effectively the end of winter!

1.0, dew -1.1, the overnight low being 0.8. Yesterday's high was 6.2, and that should be comfortably beaten today.

5.3C and calm. After a a slight shepherds warning earlier to the east, some light rain just beginning, that shows up on Brian’s radar.

Edit, the precipitation fizzles out and allows me to catch up with some outdoor stuff.

Feels much milder than recently. and some thin blue patches appearing above.

Today turned out brighter than I thought with some hazy bright spells and varied high cloud amounts, in fact right now I'm getting warm late-afternoon yellow sunshine beaming into my famed west-facing hobby room. Also finally starting to lose the chill with 7.6 C & mid 80% currently and winds are still fairly light.

Cloudy 11.1C which is unusual for this winter but a welcome change to the 2's to 6's C. Oh and light rain.

Rose tinted spectacles mean it's sort of early garden growing weather though it's a Vitamin D day again.

A massive change here, the damp Atlantic air is back - funny how you get used to things, the past few days of dry easterly air have been rather pleasant. Gone is the sunshine, back is the gloom - it's overcast with the odd spot of drizzle in the air.

10.1, dew 9.5, temperatures having risen steadily all night long.

Incidentally this is the first time we've hit double figures here since the 28th January, an impressive run these days.

Rain reasonably heavily (~10mm/hr) here at the moment as the main rain band arrived 30 mins ago.

11.2c currently, and as many others have noted, the first double digit of Feb.

We missed the sunshine for the most part in Dorset in February but retained the nagging easterly and grey chill.

The current double temp of just over 11C feels almost subtropical by comparison.

Lots of hill/coastal fog and low cloud here.

Dull, damp after 0.2 mm of rain fell earlier on this morning. Even the current 10.4 C isn't feeling that mild on account of onshore mod S breeze. Bit of a comedown after the previous three bright and dry days.

A windy morning here in Edinburgh with gusts up to around 38 mph from the south at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

It's mostly cloudy with a few bright/sunny intervals at times but also the odd bit of light rain and drizzle at times earlier on.

The main thing of note though is that it's now turned incredibly mild here for the time of year with the temperature now up to around 14°C here in Edinburgh.

I think it's therefore safe to say that winter is over!!😡

Today's maximum wind gusts at Edinburgh Gogarbank now up to around 47 mph from the SSW.

The temperature here in Edinburgh has dropped back slightly to around 13°C but even with that and regardless of what happens during the rest of the day, today will go down as our warmest day of this year so far and our warmest day of this month so far by quite a considerable amount.

Turning out more bright and cheerful than I thought here at Folkestone this afternoon, making the current 12 C & mid 80% H feel balmy especially as winds are still fairly light. Sadly the originally forecast decline with persistent rain will still turn up tonight, but that suits me fine with hopefully washing away the nearby nightclub 3 am closing time drunks.

A wild and noisy day here in Edinburgh with the wind at Edinburgh Gogarbank gusting up to around 49 mph from the south and some light rain at times in the wind.

It's another very mild day though with a temperature of around 13°C here in Edinburgh.

A generally cloudy day here but with the occasional brighter spell. It's been the warmest day of the year, of course; presently 13.0, dew 10.0, with a high just after noon of 15.2. It's been a long time since we last saw that sort of warmth... the 24th November, to be exact, and all the way back to the 29th October before that.
