Brightening up with the sun breaking through, but still a nippy 3.1 C & high 70% H with a mod SE breeze keeping the wind chill going.

Back to square one with a thick blanket of cloud and light to moderate ESE breeze making it feel even more uncomfortable.

Last years February and March were so utterly depressing I made a decision to spend some of this winter in Portugal. So now I'm out here in The Algarve for a month.
This is my 4th day and it's been mostly sunny and that sun has some power to it. Afternoon temperatures are between 17 C and 19 C and early morning it's down to between 9 C and 13 C. The sky is quite a deep summer blue and I'm wandering along the beach in shorts and t-shirt! There's about an hour's more daylight than Edinburgh

Walked up to lock the village church at 4.15pm. Felt mighty cold at  3°C with the wind chill.

And along the coast at Eastbourne a pleasant sunny afternoon from around 2pm  but 4 degrees felt bitter in that keen east wind

-2.8c currently and also the low for today. It is also the low this month.

Whilst it's been a cool month in terms of maxes (not hit double figures yet) the mins haven't been cold at all here.

2.8C.Light winds from SE and cloudy.
The BBC app for me has tomorrow Tuesday, dawn to dusk sunshine in the pictorial bits.
Will seem like the first time this year if it happens like that. And welcome would be an understatement.

A sunny morning, with a gentle easterly meaning that an air frost was avoided (both the GFS and MetO had a low of -1, so that was a fail).
0.7, dew -1.4, everything's bone dry. The overnight low was 0.4.

Fine and sunny but a mod onshore-type SE breeze coming in from the Gulf of Kent making the current 4.7 C & mid 70% H feel quite cold. Was a struggle to feel the apricity of the noon sun when I just popped out to get papers and top-up shopping. It is also that onshore wind that prevented a frost from taking a hold despite a min of 1.7 C at 7 am.

1C with light ESE breeze. For what seems to be the first time this year the skies are largely clear with some patchy medium to high cloud.
Whatever, it looks I will witness the sun rising in more or less it's glory soon and it has. Hallelujah!

One of the coldest nights of the winter at -2.5C.  Little wind and up to 5.5C before noon. This brief interval between the grey misery and the wetter and  windier up coming spell is pure heaven, giving the best weather of the winter so far with beautiful blue skies and that rare commodity - sunshine. 😀

Indeed, the sunshine held on for longer today than I thought. It's currently 24 C in my famed west-facing hobby room with the mid-afternoon sunshine beaming into it, even though it's still a chilly 4.9 C & mid 70% H outside but winds are very light.

Here in Edinburgh, last night was cold to begin with, with an official air frost being recorded at Edinburgh Airport and Edinburgh Gogarbank.

However, it has now clouded over a bit with a very nice looking red sky except that this doesn't usually bode well for the rest of the day as there is the saying "red sky in the morning, the Shepard's warning" although the weather during today is expected to be not much different from how it normally is these days with virtually nothing interesting happening whatsoever.

Currently around 2°C here in Edinburgh.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
