Currently around 13°C here in Edinburgh but today is forecast to be warmer than yesterday and looks like being a day which I am unlikely to have any complaints about.

Today is also much warmer than yesterday (albeit with only average temperatures) and it is currently around 18°C, so I have no real complaints about that.

Looking at the Wundermap, everyone else in the area is reporting 18s and 19s already, including the chap over the road... I reckon there's a lot of over-reading going on in the strong summer sunshine!

Better than the dross last night - sunny, of course, when I went to bed, thumping bass from someone a few streets away, the stench of a barbecue and someone's kids yelling in the other direction. Give me heavy rain any day, it's much better for sleeping!

At least the mornings are now noticeably darker when I get up. Only five more days of this eternal twilight, then proper night returns. It also means it takes just that little bit longer now for solar heating to start - it's taken 5 weeks for sunrise to get 18 minutes later, but it'll only take two weeks to lose the next 18 minutes. 😁

In complete contrast to that, it's another lovely morning here in Edinburgh with some decent sunshine at times.😎🌞

It's also warmer than at this time yesterday with a current temperature of around 15°C and I'll bet you that you're really missing Edinburgh at the moment as a result.🤣

Much the same here but missed the red sky. As you say, a traditional warning for shepherds to get their flocks under cover. A few spots of rain as precursor for the main event are falling as I type this.

Yes, and just in time for the Met Office to have us under an official yellow warning for rain.

Very little in the way of rain is forecast for today if anything at all and since today is St. Swithin's Day, the Met Office clearly don't believe that the legend which goes along with that will apply here this year.

However, the matrix on the official page for that warning on the Met Office's site shows that although possible impacts from that are quite high, this is an event which is unlikely to actually happen.

I wouldn't be surprised if that is how it turned out, although it's not exactly likely to be bone dry for the next 40 days even here in Edinburgh.

At the moment, it's clouded over a bit, so I hope that you're not going to be bringing that cloud and drizzle with you into Edinburgh.🤣

Apart from that though, it's not too bad. The temperature here in Edinburgh is forecast to get up to around 21°C today and we're already at around 19°C as I write.

Before the rain it was 19.8, but it's now 20.9 and rising. The dewpoint is 16.5, so it feels pretty muggy.

EDIT: And once the rain stopped, the temperature started falling... down to 20.5 now. How strange, a warm shower.
