Reading having eleven 6s + so far this month with today's 6.7 currently the highest, so no 7s.
8s continue to be forecast from time to time in the south.
Chilton however managed 7.3 on Wednesday and 7.4 today.

Presumably higher ozone today, but either way surprised to see Reading didn't even reach a 7 today, a stunning blue sky day. None of the other usual suspects hit 7 either.

UV season 2024: summary
An unremarkable season really. Data at Reading:
Only 8 was 24th June
Last 7 4th July
6.7 recorded on 9th August
Last 6 13th August
Last 5 29th August
Last 4 18th September
Last 3 4th October (unless there are late season surprises, which I doubt, as MetO has been forecasting 3s through the first 3rd of October, almost all of which have failed to hit the mark). W can still get 2 just into November but the last 2 is usually the last 10 days of October.
Have a good off-season (I know Retron among others will be glad to see the back of it) until after the New Year.

FWIW, and IIRC, the Met Office values are rounded up, and not in the usual way - a 2.0 will present as a 2, but 2.1 up to 3.0 will show as a 3. That explains the forecast 3s but measured values staying below.

Yep, apologies; you did explain that before. In the interests of skin safety, it makes sense to round up rather than off.

2.0 on 29th October which is about right for the last 2; since then, only today has registered >1.5 this calendar month, such has been the gloom of this winter anticyclone.

A day later than last year Bertie, Camborne hit the first 2 on the 17th Feb. Reading was actually pretty close as well.

Yes it certainly felt nice up here so even if the wolves didn't quite, we might well have hit the 3. Reading isn't usually until mid-March so doing better than recent gloomy years.

Air feels slightly thicker today and although the sun is very bright, there's a slightly more hazy feel, which might explain the brick red sun just after sunrise.  Looks like Reading's trace is peaking lower today, so a 3 would be a surprise, but if you're on the Downs again Darren, it might be a different story.
Sun's angle changes by about 0.4° per day in March  according to this excellent website sent to me I think by Hungry Tiger some years back.

Okay, hope I'm reading the right station this time.
I have for Reading 3.0 on 5/3 (TDF already highlighted that one), 6/3 and 13/3.
Yesterday 3.5/3.6 and today 15th 3.3
MetO predicting wide timeframe locally (Winchester) of 2s starting as early as 10am but no 3 yet (when I last looked) until Tuesday- so I think it's fair to say 3 is fairly implicit around noon.
